Motivation

Motivation, how do people stay motivated to exercise?  Most people are not motivated to do anything in life, which is a sad thing because they lose track of their dreams.

There are a few reasons I stay motivated; aging, sports, and looking good.  So the first reason I have is aging, and when I get older I want to be in the best shape that I can possibly be in.  Walking around like a cripple does not appeal to me.  I am in the fitness field and the number one thing people tell me, they wished they would have started exercising when they were younger.  Everyone should start when they are younger and never stop.  This is what I am going to live by and stay motivated with, because I want to live my life as healthy as possible, and not dying for the last half of it!  So get your ass exercising too!

My second motivation is sports. I am a guy, and guys have dreams of sports and playing in the pros.  I have always wanted to be in the NBA or NFL, so I continue to keep my body in top notch shape so that I can take on anyone in either of these sports.  In my mind, I am better than Brett Favre, maybe he will read this and we can go through a series of challenges and see who is better.  Seriously, I stay in better shape so that I am the best person on the court, or on the field.  Striving to be the best is great for staying motivated.

The third motivation I have is to just look good, we all can look good but it takes hard work with exercise.  So why not look good, the hard work (exercise) makes you a better person mentally and physically, not to mention the confidence you have when you look good!

How do you stay motivated to exercise?  What are your thoughts?  There are many ways out there that people use to stay motivated, list your motivation and you may help someone stay on track.

There are a lot of motivators to draw from: Wanting to stay attractive in the eyes of my husband, which goes hand in hand with the need to maintain a great sex life with my husband - looking sexy makes me feel sexy and walla - great sex! I agree with Bill too, I want my children, even the friends of my children, to learn to take care of themselves, and nothing leads better than example.

You can stay motivated to workout by hanging around motivating people, hanging around people that workout, getting a workout partner, reading articles on working out, hiring a personal trainer. What else keeps you motivated?

Motivation for me is the way I look in the mirror! If I start to bad, I get my butt moving more in the gym! Especially if I have not been there.
