Do you need to count calories?
When it comes to diet, everyone seems to have the best advice. There are so many diets out there, it is hard to know what to do and who to trust. Today's topic is calorie counting, do you need to count your calories? Should you count your calories? Does it depend on what you consume? Maybe it depends on who you are? Post your thoughts on counting calories, for or against calorie counting, and let's get a great blog going!

I think that you have to count your calories, if you don't you end up eating too much. A calorie in is a calorie out, so you also have to exercise and burn them.

Counting calories is for the birds, just eat what you want and exercise!

I think you need to watch your caloric intake. I see what happens to people who just eat as much as they want. Personally I write down everything in a journal, this helps me out.

I think if you have a problem eating, then maybe you need to count calories. People who are eating all the time may need some kind of system to keep them under control. Other people don't have weight issues and probably eat fine and there is no reason to count calories! Personally I do not count calories but eat a pretty healthy diet.

Here it is, and you may be shocked...if you eat healthy, which everyone should, then you do not need to count your calories. Cutting red meat, dairy, fast food, pop(especially diet), and junk food out of your diet can go a long way! Eat things like fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, 100% whole grains, fish, seafood, beans, lentils, etc, to give yourself the best chance for attaining the weight you want and the health you want. Of course this is would be in a perfect world, we all splurge every now and then, but if you stick to the script most of the time, then you are on your way to a healthy you! Good luck, and remember, if you eat healthy you do not need to count calories, a serving size is about the size of your fist!

Thanks for stopping in, I try to keep up with the blog but it seems to be last on my list. I will not stop doing it, just might be awhile between posts. Writing books, writing articles, making workout videos, training clients, spending time with my kids and wife, maintaining websites, photography.....the list goes on, and of course my blog! I have a bunch of topics to write on, just need to get some things out of the way.
I was actually going to be a dentist myself, did well on my DAT, accepted into school, and decided it was not for me...how do u like it?

I think that counting calories only works for some of us, I rather don't count, I am not much into numbers. Plus counting calories and hoping to lose a certain amount of fat is only makes me pay attention to the effort instead of the result.
